This was the group poem from the Last open mic Theme: “Let Her Speak” Her gestures and actions say it all Her eyes , her lips, they express her true thoughts. Words don’t have to convey how she is feeling. Her words are powerful and filled with unshakeable faith Her words give life, they spring forth with joy. From the youngest of voices to the oldest, Her voice shall be heard. The world will hear. The world will let her speak. Thunder rumblin’ on a summer evening like a storm Brewing like coffee at her favorite cafe, cuz it’s so quiet, though it’ll never be quite as lovely as the home she’s crafted with the sound of her voice. The power in her voice can move mountains Her soul can raise nations Her heart is as large as the universe yet fragile like ice, she uses it so freely and that is her vice. Her art is speaking now no tooth is ached no duct tape is applied to her mouth are you listening now
